City Market/Onion River Co-op

The cooperative organization here is called the Onion River Cooperative, with City Market being a grocery operated by the cooperative. It’s not clear from the website whether this means that there are also other businesses operated under the Onion River umbrella or not, but the possibility exists!

Membership in the Onion River Coop costs $200 – eight shares at $25/share. A fully-capitalized member, who has paid off all eight shares has full member rights. A member who has paid at least one share has more limited rights in the coop. It is also possible to join the coop without purchasing an equity share, but will not be able to vote or work in the coop until their member share reaches $25.

Benefits include a 7% discount for working members (2 hours/month), 12% discount for working members (4 hours/month), patronage refunds, and quarterly member-owner coupons.
