Minneapolis Public Library

The Minneapolis Public Library has 15 locations in Minneapolis, including the central library and 14 branches. All Minneapolis residents are eligible for a library card, obtainable at any library location by supplying a picture ID with your name and current address or a picture ID and a piece of recently posted mail with your current address. It is also possible to apply for your library card online, in which case your card will be mailed to you within two weeks. Your library card may be used at most public libraries in the state of Minnesota, although you will need to register the card in each system you wish to use. You must abide by the rules of whichever system you have borrowed from.

Residents of Minnesota outside of Minneapolis may use their home library cards free of charge within the SPPL system. Non-Minnesota residents may obtain a card for $45.
